The "Bore Center" incorporates a rotating cutting plate with a sliding mechanism (U-axis) into the head of the rotating spindle, enabling easier boring operations through tool integration (reduction in the number of tools), reduction in ATC cycles, and correction of the machining diameter using the U-axis compensation function (optional).

The rotating faceplate is directly supported by the spindle head via large-diameter, high-rigidity bearings, and a movable balance mechanism is standard equipment within the faceplate. Of course, in addition to boring operations, machining center functions with general tools such as drills and end mills can be used as before.

The U-axis drive system utilizes two ball screws and a high-precision rack and pinion to achieve high rigidity and precise positioning. The automatically lubricated U-axis slide is equipped with a full-circumference wiper to prevent chip ingress, ensuring a longer lifespan. A positive stopper and locking mechanism at the center of the faceplate ensure reliable origin maintenance, enabling long-term accuracy preservation.
